How to apply more than 2 filters in Power BI?

Assume you have a data table with a Color field. You want to filter the data to display only certain records, for example, those where the Color field::

  • Starts with the letter „b“ or
  • Contains the lette „k“ or
  • Contains the text „er“

Solution

  1. Open Power BI Desktop:
  • Start Power BI Desktop and open the report with your data.
  1. Add a Visualization:
  • Add a table or chart that displays the sales data.
  1. Open the Filtering Panel:
  • On the right side of the screen, find the Filters panel.
  1. Add the Field to Filter:
  • Drag the Color field from the Fields panel to the Filters on this visual section.
  1. Set Filtering Criteria:
  • In the Filters on this visual section, select Basic filtering.
  • Check as many boxes as you need for filters (in this case, just 3)

6. Advanced filtering:

    • In the Filters on this visual section, select Advanced filtering again

7. Create the desired filters

8. Apply the filters:

  • Click on Apply filter to apply the filters to the visualization.
